Team members are special donors who do not sponsor a family or community center, but participate as general members with their membership dollars providing financial support that helps us to expand our programs and help more people. Team Members have a particular commitment to alleviating the effects of poverty in this country. They keep informed about our programs and services, they donate to The Box Project when they can, and they are critical to our success.
The primary strength of The Box Project is enabling and supporting our volunteer family-to-family activity. Because of our unique structure, we are able to accomplish a great deal with very little administrative expense. Our initial membership dues of $50 per year from sponsoring families covers less than half of our actual costs to match and support a family through the first year. By itself, the money from these dues will not support a national organization and its attendant requirements. General expenses include newsletters, postage, telephone costs, insurance, and rent. Just state registrations required to maintain our charitable status cost us several thousand dollars each year.
Box Project Team members recognize the need for financially supporting the programs and services provided by the organization, annually paying membership fees to provide these services.
